Dental Implants

Since the leading dental implant pioneers such as Dr.Leonard I Linkow and Per-Ingvar Brånemark and others opened the door for dental implant science, The design and modalies of dental implant have enormously evolved and developed so that the implant can be placed and restored
very successfully. For example, when one missing tooth needs to be restored, the long-term success rate of implant supported crown has shown even higher than the conventional bridge work.

Before development of dental implants, denture or bridge were the only alternatives to replacing a missing tooth or teeth. Dental Implant is bio comparable structure that is placed in the area of the tooth normally occupied by the root. Implants are integrated (fused) to the surrounding jawbone and act as a foundation for a crown or permanent bridge. Furthermore, implants can be used to stabilize dentures by clips on attachment and can be used as anchor for the orthodontic treatment.

Almost all the people are candidate for a dental implant. For a successful implant to take hold, a candidate must have proper volume of bone and have acceptable immune system. In general, good candidates who have dental implants can expect high
success rates with the procedure. The procedure is usually divided in 2 to 3 stages. Implant placement stage, second stage (placing a healing collar to prepare connection from implant body to crown) and restorative stage (The stage to fabricate the crown or bridge).

We perform single stage at the most of time, meaning only one surgery and wait for 3 to 4 months before the restorative stage.

Converting Full Denture Patient to Fixed Implant Supported Bridge, we use the computer designed and computer assisted surgery utilizing in-house CT (Cone Beam CT) scan machine to provide fast and accurate implant placement and fabricate a fixed provisional bridge. Because the gum (Soft tissue) is not going to be opened, the pain or swelling after the surgery is very minimum. The techniques such as “All on four” or “Teeth Tomorrow” are also applicable to patient with full denture.

Immediate Placement
When tooth cannot be saved, instead of waiting after extraction and/or bone graft, implant can be placed at the time of removing the tooth although it is not applicable to every case. By doing this, you can walk out of office with fixed temporary tooth for you to smile with confidence.
